A RARE PIANO FROM THE ART DECO PERIOD.-The Model P Steinway was only produced for a 10 year period. This instrument features their patented accelerated action, that offers the pianist the opportunity to play a wide range of expression with ease. This one is a beauty and in excellent condition, no cracks in the sound board, responsive action, ivory keys, fluted columnar legs ending in acanthus leaves and rounded corners in an art deco style. It has the original finish, has not been refinished. There are two keys with very tiny chips on the front, no cracks or crazing. None of the keys stick. The mahogany is a golden honey. The case is in excellent condition with minor surface use, no major damage or missing veneer except for a 1x1 inch chip on the bottom left (see photos.) One of the nice features about this piano is that the music rack is on hinges and when in place there is a space on both sides for sound. Most uprights are solid in the front. Serial no.P299715. This piano was originally purchased in NYC on Dec. 8, 1939 as per Steinway archives dept. Has two pedals. Includes a matching bench with storage area, 32 wide x 15 deep x 20 high. We were given an estimate of $500.00 to get this piano in perfect working order. SHIPPING APPLIES TO CATEGORY "C".
