WILLIAM IMLAY (Died 1807). DS. 1 page. Hartford, Connecticut. May 22, 1790. Partly-printed Comptroller’s Office certificate issued to and signed on verso by WILLIAM. IMLAY Commissioner of Loans . The order is for “eighteen pounds out of the taxes appropriated for the payment of the civil list.” Signed as Comptroller by Ralph Pomeroy. This was likely issued to pay Imlay’s salary as a loan commissioner. Punch cancelled Excellent.
