A podracing rock arch model miniature from George Lucas' Star Wars: The Phantom Menace. Anakin Skywalker (Jake Lloyd) won his freedom in a deadly podrace through the deserts of Tatooine, passing under rock arches at high speeds. Physical models of rock elements were created and photographed for the sequence, with images of the model texture being projected onto digital forms to create the final look of the elements for the podracing environment.

In addition to being utilized for the film itself, this particular model featured prominently in the podrace sequence proof of concept test footage made at ILM, as seen on the behind-the-scenes disc that came with John Knoll's book Creating the Worlds of Star Wars: 365 Days.

This rock arch was built using mixed media, including plaster and crumpled metal foil, and painted in shades of brown with sculpted cracks and purposeful weathering applied throughout. The miniature rests on a wooden base and is in excellent overall condition with minimal wear from production and age. Dimensions: 44.5 cm x 11 cm x 14 cm (17 1/2" x 4 1/4" x 5 1/2")

Estimate: 2,000 - 3,000
