STAR WARS R2D2 COMPLETE SET WITH VINTAGE FIBERGLASS PIECES CAST OFF ACTUAL DROIDS!

Based on the details present on the red fiberglass castings and various archive reference photos, the red fiberglass castings appear to have been produced from a mold that someone made of an actual aluminum R2 unit from ILM. The body was cast from an ANH-style aluminum shell, the feet were cast from ANH-style shells, and the dome was cast from an ESB-style dome. The body and dome appear to have been molded together as one piece, then the resulting fiberglass casting was cut apart at the neck. The bubbles on the dome were likely placed to plug empty holes in the partially disassembled droid during molding/casting, as well as to possibly act as a mounting point for resin castings of the holoprojector rings. The legs and feet were each cast separately.

This is a very old R2D2. I believe this was produced when they refurbished the R2D2's for use in the prequels.
Looks complete, but "SPECIFIC ORIGIN IS LOST"! It was found in a retired, now deceased F/X workers storage.
The smaller pieces are resin casts, but all of the main pieces are very old fiberglass.
I would not call it PROVENANCE, but the "RETURN OF THE JEDI" trailer [offered separately] came with it.

IMPORTANT NOTE!
As stated "Origin is Lost", but it takes a very long time to get this level of patina! "I AM GUESSING", but the fiberglass pieces "MAY" be some sort of production material. The more recent resin pieces look to have been gathered later to complete, but it was never finished.
Took a good look at the photos and make your best judgement here but I have never seen anything quite like this. Interesting to say the least!
