SRIKSHETRA: AR 96 ratti (10.99g), 4th-5th century, Mitch-98:416/17, Mahlo-12a.2, bhadrapitha, 5 lamps above // srivatsa, sankh shell inside, with "nose", large sankh, VF to EF, ex Hans Mondorf Collection. Mahlo considers this the first type to introduce the srivatsa reverse, but Mitchiner assigned it to the 7th century! This design was revived for a machine-struck issue struck at the British Calcutta mint in 1797.
