SPRINGFIELD Trapdoor Model 1879, # 238710, .45-70 cal., 32.5” barrel, full stock, black leather sling. Rifle remains in very good original condition showing approximately 85%-90% original finish, thinning at the muzzle and high points.Wood is in very good condition showing “67” on the right side of the stock, and “SWP 1883” cartouche on the left side. There is a ding in the wood just forward of the cartouche that measures approximately ½” x 5/8” and about ¼” deep, slingis in fair to good condition showing no rips or tears. Est. $600-$1,200.
