Springerle, also known as Eierzucker, are an anise-flavored
cookie made in Germany, Switzerland and Austria, usually for
Christmas. Special wooden molds used to stamp designs into
the dough. These molds are usually wood and are often fine folk
art. This Springerle mold is carved with 10 different motifs. They are often prized family heirlooms.
