SPANISH AMERICAN WAR TO WWI ERA MARINE, NAVY &

ARMY FIELD GEAR.
1) MARINE KNAPSACK. A scarce example of a Spanish American War to WWI tan canvas knapsack stenciled on the front flap, “U.S.M.C.”. There are 2 thick leather straps at the top w/ brass hooks on the ends. There is 1 lg. & 1 sm. interior compartment.
2) AMMO BELT. A Mills style US Navy M1895 cartridge belt for use w/ the Winchester-Lee straight pull rifle used by Marines. Blue canvas belt w/ leather pocket flaps. Some flaps are missing & some are deteriorated. Buckle is present but detached.
3) HAVERSACK. A WWI period field green haversack. Heavy cotton canvas w/ the initials, “W.J.Mc.F.” on the front flap.
4) 2 HAVERSACKS. 2 Spanish American War era, tan, heavy canvas haversacks w/ closure buckles & strap.
5) CANTEEN. A Pre-WWI canteen marked on its canvas cover, “U.S.M.C.”. It is also marked near the bottom of the canteen, “Phila. Depot. 1912”. Canteen is complete w/ leather suspension strap to go over the shoulder. Canteen does have a few dents.
6) TIN. A 4" x 1 3/4" green painted tin w/ a label that reads, “PREPARED TALCULM POWDER E.R. SQUIBB & SONS, BROOKLYN, N.Y.”. CONDITION: all items show light to moderate wear except as noted. (02-15907/BF). $600-800.
