Smith & Wesson Model 1-1/2, 1st Issue revolver, manufactured in the late 1860s. This revolver is chambered in .32 Rimfire Short and features a 5-shot cylinder, tip-up barrel, and spur trigger. It bears patent markings ending in July 5, 1859, confirming it as a true 1st Issue model, produced between 1865 and 1868 only.

This revolver shows wear consistent with its age and retains no original bluing. The wood grips are original, intact, and not broken. Mechanically, the action is functional with a tight lockup and smooth sliding barrel. A great candidate for restoration or historical display.

Overall Condition: Fair

Finish: No original bluing remains

Bore: Pitted, but lands and grooves remain visible

Function: Hammer and trigger function as they should. Cylinder does not rotate when cocking hammer.

Missing Parts: Hinge screw is broken and part of it is missing. Rod that should protrude from below barrel is missing.
The Smith & Wesson Model 1-1/2 was introduced in 1865 and quickly became a popular choice for civilian self-defense. It was one of the earliest revolvers designed for metallic cartridges and followed in the footsteps of the smaller Model 1. This 1st Issue variant predates the more common second issue and is notable for its tip-up barrel, spur trigger, and early patent markings. These revolvers were widely carried in the post-Civil War period and remain highly collectible today.
