SIMJURID: Abu 'Ali Muhammad II, 987-997, AE fals (2.13g) (Herat), AH37(7), A-1477, cf. Zeno-14008 (same reverse die) & 270026, without the Samanid overlord, thus struck during his very brief claim of independence, citing the local governor of Herat, al-Hasan b. 'Ali, F-VF, RRR. All fulus of Herat struck later in 377 and thereafter cite the Samanid overlord, as do all copper coins of other mints and all silver & gold coins of all mints. This appears to be the third reported example.
