LIEGE WITH GAME SCENE ENGRAVING. Cal. 12 Ga., 2 3/4". S# N.702. The 26 3/4" dovetailed bbls. w/ matted game rib are engraved w/ maker's name and address on tops. Bbl. flats are stamped w/ pre 1922 Belgian Nitro proofs for 2 3/4" chambers. Steel type is marked on bottoms of bbls. Coin finished sideplated boxlock action features automatic safety, hidden third fastener, sideclips and dbl. triggers (front articulated). Action is engraved w/ scrolling acanthus surrounding game scene on bottom and floorplate of pointing pointer. Lockplates are fully engraved w/ game scenes w/ stag being taken down by four hounds on left w/ another 5 hounds taking out a fox on right. A stag's head is on trigger guard bow, more scrolling acanthus is on tang. Attracitvely marbled and figured European walnut straight grip buttstock measures 14" over "Silver" type pad. Point pattern checkering is at grip and sling loop & a vacant silver oval are on toeline. Matching splinter ejector forend w/ Anson release has gold crestplate set into center, engraved w/ the monogram "FO". MEASUREMENTS: BBLS: Bore Diameter: R .726", L .727". Restriction: R .023" (MOD), L .038" (FULL). Min. Wall Thickness: R .027", L .027". STOCK: DAH: 1 1/2". DAC: 2 1/8". LOP: 14". CAST: approx. 1/2" off. WEIGHT: 6 lb. 8 oz. CONDITION: good as refinished. Bbls. w/ most of an old reblack. Engraving somewhat softened. Action heavily cleaned to coin finish w/ engraving very soft, extremely thin on bottom. Stocks with most of an old oil refinish, pad relatively new, checkering recut. Bores are shiny w/ some light striations. Action is tight.(22-4470/MGM). CURIO. $1,000-1,500.
