This gun, built on the Baker patent easy opening action retailed by Lancaster as the "12/20", has 28" dovetailed bbls. with maker's name and address on swamped game rib. Gun is one of a pair with #1 gold inlaid in all the normal places. Bbl. flats are stamped with London nitro proofs for 2 1/2" chambers and Birmingham reproofs at .740. Coin finished action features automatic safety, ("SAFE" inlaid in gold), hidden third fastener and double triggers. Action is engraved with near full coverage classic British rose and scroll. "ARMSTRONG & CO." is on each lockplate. Blued trigger guard has serial number on tang. Straight grip buttstock of nicely figured European walnut measures 14 1/4" over ribbed horn buttplate. Stock features drop points and flat top point pattern checkering. Matching splinter ejector forend has Anson release. MEASUREMENTS: BBLS.: Bore Diameter: R: .735", L: .737". CONDITION: good as refinished. Bbls. retain nearly all of a best reblack over considerable scattered pitting. Engraving on bbls. is almost gone. Action is cleaned to silver gray over scattered light pitting, engraving softened. Top lever and trigger guard have nearly all of a reblue, engraving quite soft. Stocks retain nearly all of their oil refinish with a few bumps and scratches, checkering recut. Bores are fine, shiny and without noted major problems. Action is tight. Bbls. are on face.
