Handled bowl with lid (vegetable dish) made in France, 19th - early 20th century.
Marked underglaze Sevres, but looks like painting done by Le Tallec at Limoges.
Measures 6 inches high; 6 1/4 inches accross excluding handles; 7 3/4inches accross including handles.
Faceted round dish with continuous handpainted Chinoiserie scene of people in a landscape surrounded by large flowers and foliage. Rich gilding on rims and handles.
Scenes depict a woman serving a crowned Mandarin / emperor seated at a table and another with a couple strolling in a garden with a servant holding an umbrella to shade them. Bright flowers surround each scene. The lid has a continuous ring of Chinese figures dancing or jumping, each seperated by a garland of flowers and foliage. The stepped upper level has radiating gold lines, which lead to a richly gilded fruit form finial.
Good condition.
