<hr align=left size=5 width=33% color=#778899>(1847-1919). American frontier lawman, the first sheriff of Deadwood, Dakota Territory (1877-?), arriving there on Aug 1, 1876, just a few days before the murder of Wild Bill Hickock. Meeting Theodore Roosevelt in 1894, he was thereafter a lifelong friend. He was a member of Roosevelt’s Roughriders and was appointed marshal of Dakota Territory by the President in 1905. TLS as US Marshal, 1p, 4to, Sioux Falls, Dec 5, 1910. On his official letterhead to W. E. Meagley, US Commissioner in McLaughlin, SD. Bullock directs the apparently new commissioner regarding how to obtain blank stationery for the various forms he will be required to use. In part, “...<i>Probably a seal (if you do to have one already) docket, warrants, complaints, commitment, subpoena, pay-rolls, and blanks on which to submit your quarterly account will be all that you will require...I will send you a book of instructions as soon as I get some in, as we are out just at present.</i>..” Boldly signed, adding “<i>U.S. Marshal.</i>” Normal folds; lightly soiled on verso; else Fine example.

11. All bidding is done in a competitive manner. The
winning bid will always be one bidding increment
over the second highest bid. The minimum
acceptable bid for any lot is 50% of the low
estimate given in the item description or $25,
whichever is higher.

12. Payment is expected immediately upon receipt of
invoice. All accounts are payable to Signature
House. Payment must be made in U.S. funds. Wire
transfer details are available upon request.
West Virginia residents will pay a sales tax of
6% unless a resale number is filed with us prior
to the closing date. For sales outside of the USA
a credit card is requested.

13. Shipment is made via U.S. Postal Service or
Airborne unless otherwise instructed. Handling,
shipping and insurance charges are added to the
invoice. Oversize and foreign shipments are subject
to increased charges. All items are shipped
immediately upon receipt of payment.

14. Golden Guarantee: All material is returnable within
seven days providing that it comes back in the same
condition. There is a lifetime guarantee on
authenticity to the original purchaser. The item(s)
must be returned with two letters denying it’s
authenticity by expert authenticators acceptable
