SEEBURG KT NICKELODEON.
The classic American Nickelodeon with art glass front with eagle. This outstanding machine was once part of the Charles Smallwood collection sold by Butterfield & Butterfield in August 1987. Smallwood was renowned for working to keep the famed San Francisco cable car system afloat and used the proceeds of that sale for that purpose. This cabinet style Nickelodeon is in a medium oak case with three piece art glass front with arch for eagle and triangular pieces on either side with crest. Eagle is perched on red, white, and blue crest. Carved columns on either side of the doors. Bottom doors have been cut out for viewing of pump, mechanics, and roll. Leaded glass has some clear glass in it to view the tambourine, triangle, castanets, and 22-note xylophone. Piano plays a style G or 4X ten tune music roll readily available. Coin slot appears to be set up for quarters and will register up to 20 tunes. Has knobs to turn off extra instruments and turn the piano down to soft and brass tag in center of front panel says "J. P. Seeburg Piano Company. Simplicity - Reliability - Endurance". Lid can be opened for extra volume. All interior parts appear to be original including motor. Includes several additional D-rolls and a test roll. SIZE: 48" w x 24" d x 62" t. CONDITION: Case has been refinished. Sides are re-veneered and molding between two doors has been replaced. Interior has been fully rebuilt, piano restrung with new tuning pins, plate repainted, and sounding board repaired. Piano action has new dampers and is overhauled and rebuilt as necessary for a good solid action. Machine plays well, although somewhat weak. Some slight adjustments should put this to right. Top has been drilled to accommodate a custom made marquee stating the machine's colored history as well as the instruments the machine plays. 1-13636
