SCULPTURAL GEM TOURMALINE CLUSTER - COLOR STUDY IN PINKS, BLUES & GREENS
Pederneira Mine, Lavra da Pederneira, São José da Safira, Minas Gerais, Southeast Region, Brazil
Deep in the bowels of the earth, Nature had marshaled all of the elements necessary to create this truly aesthetic gem mineral specimen. This fine sculpture is a reminder of Nature's ability to create beauty out of base chemicals. The gem tourmalines have intensely rich cranberry red cores that are overcoated with shades of blue green, giving the exterior of the crystal a lilac cast. The crystal terminations are rich green to bright blue-green in color and are primarily pinacoidal; even those crystals which appear to have flat terminations, up close, reveal that there are actually numerous alternating small, flattened, pyramidal terminations. The numerous gem tourmalines erupt from a matrix of lavender lepidolite and white albite. A sizable specimen, this sculptural bi-color tourmaline cluster measures 9 ½ x 8 ½ x 6 inches.

Shipping: Requires 3rd Party Shipping (view shipping information)
