M1-C SNIPER SEMI-AUTO MILITARY RIFLE. Cal.30-06. Ser. # 3375032. Bbl. 24" marked on right side “1 S-A-12-44”. Throat gauges 1.0; muzzle gauges 1.0. Adjustable aperture locking bar rear sight w/ battle range elevation knob & ribbed sight cover. Blade front sight w/ protective ears. Gas cyl. lock marked “M”. Cross slot gas cyl. lock screw. Bayonet lug is marked on bottom w/ “H”. Bolt, operating rod, trigger housing, hammer, & safety all marked “SA”. Stamped trigger guard. Receiver fitted on left side w/ Griffin & Howe side mount base. Base is attached w/ 3 socket head screws & 2 alignment pins. Screws have been staked on the inside of the receiver w/ multiple punch marks. Receiver base has been hand stamped “3516147”. Mount is marked underneath scope tube “GRIFFIN & HOWE INC NEW YORK” & patent dates. Mount is fitted w/ Lyman 7/8" tube scope marked “TELESCOPE M82” “SERIAL NO. 37798” & “STOCK NO. 84374”. Ocular bell numbered “7634670”. Turret bases are numbered “7634671”. Turret caps are numbered “7575180”. Scope is equipped w/ rubber eye piece & sliding sunshield. Tapered post reticle w/o crosshair. Non-matching walnut stock set. Buttstock appears to be well worn replacement retaining little finish but is marked with boxed “SA” & “G.A.W.” Faint “crossed cannons.” Circle “P” proof under grips. Trap buttplate. Green web sling. CONDITION: buttstock has considerable wear, staining, scratches & handling marks. Cracked under rear of receiver; crack is not readily visible from exterior. Handguards have notably more finish but exhibit wear & handling marks. Rear handguard has fine crack between band & receiver. Metal has 75% thinning original Parkerization w/ light wear & scattered handling marks. Scope & mount have thinning blue finish w/ wear, light oxidation & scattered fine scratches. Eye cup is flexible. Optics appear clear & serviceable. Good shiny bore w/ sharp lands. (22-4776/RW) CURIO. $2,500-5,500.
