PORCELAIN: A late 19th century Satsuma tea service consisting of a teapot, 7'', creamer with lid, 4.75'', and sugar bow with lid, 5.75'', each having dragonhead finals. The spout on the tea pot is in the form of a dragon, 5 tea cups1.75'' x 3.75'', 5 saucers 5.25'', note one saucer while Satsuma does not match and is from the early 20th century, and 5 matching plates 7.25''. Each plate features six ''saints'' having solid gold halos and a central seated female haloed figure; the saucers carry the same theme but only four saints. The plates have gold-rimmed edges and the porcelain is a dull ivory luster with fine crackle glazing, hallmarked both in strike mode (black) on some and in signed (red) on others. Note: some normal edge wear consistent with age on the finials and plate edges, some gilding irregularities noted, no chips or damage noted.
