Decorative blindstamped brown cloth with gilt spine and cover title, brown endpapers. Inscribed by W[illiam] E. Taylor, Surgeon on the U.S. Navy flagship Saranac, with "Compliments" to Capt. J. S. Lawson, U.S. Coastal Survey, September 18, 1873. (The U.S.S. Saranac was first commissioned in 1850, and was wrecked in 1875.) Condition: Good; edgewear and some staining to cloth; wear to ends of spine; foxing mostly on edges of textblock; back endpaper with torn corner. Together with: NORMAN, LUCIA.
