Old Porcelain Figure of a child begging - one of the beggar children originally made by Kaendler in 1765. Samson, Paris, was famous for their excellent quality immitation of Meissen porcelain. <P><P> Measures:4 1/4" high. <P><P> Superb figurine of a child, dressed in Eastern clothes holding out one hand to beg. Fabulous handpainted floral details to tunic. Light purple head covering with gilded pattern and gilt highlights all over. Very fine detail to hair and facial features. <P><P> Marks: underglaze blue crossed swords in immitation of Meissen mark. <P><P> Condition: very good.
