SAM SHEPPARD
American neurosurgeon convicted in the 1954 murder of his wife despite his continual denial of any culpability. With the help of F. Lee Bailey, Sheppard was acquitted twelve years later, despite the public's belief that he remained guilty. Sheppard's case was the inspiration for the television series and film "The Fugitive". D.S., a check made out to his wife (and alleged victim) MARILYN REESE SHEPPARD who has also endorsed the check, which coincidentally was signed by her father, THOMAS REESE, who committed suicide by shotgun following the murder. Fine condition.
