(Disneyland, 1954) A historically significant original concept painting of the Main Street Kodak Camera Shop. Ever the showman, Walt Disney made proposals to his would-be corporate sponsors by sending them original renderings of their prospective spaces on Main Street with signage bearing their coporate identity. If a sponsor was to decline, he would send another rendering of the same space to a competitor with their logo. This was never a problem however, in that every sponsor Disney sent a proposal, bought into Disneyland hook, line, and sinker! This beautifully rendered painting by Imagineer Sam McKim features the Main Street location of the Kodak Camera Shop. Kodak did sponsor the space, and this artwork came directly from their archives. As an interesting side note, the Kodak concession at Disneyland was owned and operated by opening day emcee, Art Linkletter. Accomplished in gouache and colored pencil on 20 x 28.5 in. brownline. In very fine condition. Unexamined out of frame.
