<td width="100%">
A true work of art and French history. This fabulous perfume is
a very heavy (2 lbs. 4.5oz.) cobalt leaded glass and gilt with
heavy bronze and brass fittings. The top collar is a dark bronze
with a screw on cap and chain, adorned with two, winged horses
with fish tails (like a mermaid), and a festooned wreath. Inside
the collar is a brass disc, which is marked "TM" inside an oval.
The pump shaft works fine and is topped with a bronze disc with
a lady resting on a chaise; beside her is a tall urn with what
appears to be two long bottles in it. Her hair is in a bun, and
one arm is resting on the chaise back. Very regal and royal
designs, plus the gilt is around the entire bottle. The upper half
has six oval thumbprints in the glass, and the lower skirt fans
out in six panels. The base is round with one small scuff to the
glass on one corner, and wear marks on the entire base...see
photos. No cracks or broken pieces. Definitely a piece for the
royalty or wealthy. Estimated circa 1820-1850. Insurance
required. Dimensions: 6-3/4" high overall; bottom skirt is 5"
across point to point.
