Japanese WWII Ace who is credited with 64 aerial victories. On Dec 3, 1942, he shot down an American plane in the Philippines, in what was said to be Japan’s first aerial victory. On Jan 25, 1941, he downed an American B-17 the first Allied bomber to fall in the Pacific. SP, b/w, 7½"x5" half-length portrait in uniform. Boldly signed in Japanese and English beside his image. Occasional light creasing; o/w VG. Accompanied by original transmittal envelope and a lengthy <i>New York Times</i> newspaper article reporting his death.</span></p>

1. Auction Catalogue No. 19 is a Mail, Fax, Phone, Email and
Internet Live Bid Auction and is conducted under the laws of the State
of West Virginia by Gil Griggs, Licensee of Charleston, W. V. License
No. 002.
2. Absentee bid closing date is April 5th, 2002, 10:00 PM EST.
3. There is a 15% Buyer’s Premium charged on the final hammer price
of each lot. An additional 2½% Premium will be added to any lots
purchased through ebayliveauctions.com.
4. The Auctioneer reserves the right to reject any bid for any
reason.

6. In the event of duplicate high bids, the earliest bid received
will be the winner.
