Smith & Wesson Pre-Model 17 K-Chuk Conversion Double Action Revolver, #K36416, converted to .224 KC cal., 6'' barrel, blue finish, slightly later checkered S&W walnut grips. Barrel additionally marked ''Harvey .224 Kay Chuk''. Left side grip frame marked ''Bennett Gunworks, Delmar, N.Y.''. James Harvey developed this wildcat cartridge based on the .22 Hornet round in approx. 1955. Harvey modified approx. 30 guns at his Lakeville Arms, Conn. Gun Shop, and then sold the rights to Bennett Gunworks in New York, who produced approx. 300 examples. Condition is fine retaining approx. 92% lightly thinning blue with most losses relegated to muzzle and high edges of cylinder and in actioning areas. Grips show some flattening. Action is crisp, bore is bright. Dies are included. In slightly later S&W K22 Masterpiece Model 17 box for 8-3/8'' revolver, along with a pair of black Pachmayr rubber grips.
