Smith & Wesson Gilmore ''Dark Invader'' Model 28-2 Double Action Revolver, #N87408, .357 mag. cal., 7'' custom multi-comp barrel, bright finished, custom fingergroove zebrawood grips with maple spacer and walnut butt. Featured as the cover gun on the February 1993 issue of Gun World Magazine, with extensive article on page 46. Revolver additionally features Millet adjustable sights and rib, high-tech for the early '90s Tasco Laser-Point sight, and Tasco Pro-Point optical sight. The laser features a built-in adjustable windage and elevation system. Top of yoke features a dual spring-loaded ball detent for positive tight lock-up. Double action trigger pull has been tuned to just under 10 lbs. with a Single Action squeeze at 3 lbs. This revolver is capable of extremely accurate groups at the 25-yard range and, as the author states in the article, ''Mean groups measuring less than 2''.'' Article also features a companion knife by famous knifemaker Chuck Stapel of Glendale, CA (also included). The knife is a custom 12'' fighting knife cut from .440 stainless steel, with satin chrome finish to match the finish of the revolver. Knife grips are a thick dark gray/black micarta. The original grips in the article sport a thong hole. The grips have since been replaced and now lack that feature. Revolver remains in excellent condition and exhibits little use in the 20 years since the article was written. Original 1993 Gun World magazine article is included. Est.: $2,250-$3,000. (Modern)
