1st Model 1st Issue 6th variation .22 caliber seven shot revolver, S/N 10832. This was S&W’s first metallic cartridge firearm and a important early cartridge arm patented 1855 and 1858. This revolver is in “As Found” uncleaned condition with dark almost black silver remaining on the frame. The ejector rod is a period blacksmith made replacement. The barrel address is legible and there is some minor pitting and patina finish on the barrel and cylinder. The grips show a large crack and piece glued back. The action is working but not locking up. Loose on the barrel pin. The “Grand daddy” of Smith & Wesson’s as well as American cartridge revolvers that bring high dollars in better condition. Along with "carte de visite" of John Slidell confederate ambassador as displayed by old collector with this revolver. Condition is NRA Good ****Antique Firearm****
