"An unusual relic, being a menu from the Jewish refugee ship the S.S. St. Louis, printed in both German and English, dated July of 1938. On May 13, 1939, the S.S. St. Louis, a German passenger ship, left Germany with nearly a thousand refugees. Refused permission to land in Cuba and the United States, the refugees were eventually granted asylum in Great Britain, France, , Belgium, and the Netherlands. In World War Two, when Germany overran most of Europe, many of the former St. Louis passengers were exterminated by the Nazis. Very good condition." 2223 An unusual relic, being a menu from the Jewish refugee ship the S.S. St. Louis, printed in both German and English, dated July of 1938. On May 13, 1939, the S.S.
