S. North U.S. Model 1816 Flintlock Pistol
Early production U.S. Military model 1816 flintlock pistol chambered in .54 caliber, circa 1817 - 1820. These pistols were used in the Seminole Wars, Mexican War and converted to percussion for use in the Civil War. Features a 9 1/16" barrel proofed "P" & "U.S.", lock marked "S. North/U(eagle)S/Midln Con.", brass blade sight on barrel band, notched rear sight, brass flashpan, original flintlock configuration, hickory ramrod without ferrule, iron furniture and a one piece hardwood plain pistol grip stock. Pistol shows an even dark patina with mostly legible markings. Wood stock is very good with a faint remnant of original cartouche, dings, some cracks and small losses. Bore is clear and action is in working order. A great piece of early U.S. Militaria. Condition is very good as antique. ***Antique Firearm***
