<B>S. Clay Wilson - Twenty Drawings Portfolio (Abington Book Shop, 1967) Condition: FN/VF.</B></I> Like other collectibles, Undergrounds have their "holy grail" items, things that turn up only on very rare occasions, or maybe never within one's lifetime of collecting. This early portfolio of sketches by the outrageous S. Clay Wilson fits that bill, and then some. Printed and distributed in Wilson's hometown of Lawrence, Kansas, in an edition of 100-500 (accounts vary, although the lesser number is probably closer to the truth), this is one tough cookie to corner. The illustrations inside are typically wacked-out Wilson creations; lots of pirates, cowboys, bikers, bad girls, and demons, all drawn with a crazed look in their collective eyes. The portfolios were presented in a light purple folder with one of four Wilson drawings pasted on the front; this is the "Demon" version. Back in 1982, Jay Kennedy's <B>Official Underground and Newave Comix Price Guide</B></I> quoted this one with a value of $400. Jerry Weist's 2000 <B>Comic Art Price Guide</B></I> calls it "one of the rarest and most sought-after of all Undergrounds," and notes that copies seldom survive in above VG condition due to low paper quality, quoting a value of $950. Any way you slice it, this is a doozy of an item for those in search of something "different." <BR><BR><B>Important notice:</B> Heritage usually auctions material at the rate of 200-250 lots per hour. privileges conferred therein are strictly construed and is the exclusive
remedy. Purchaser by non-compliance to its express terms of a granted

<b>Dispute Resolution and Arbitration Provision:</b><o:p></o:p></span></li>

conducted under the provisions of the Federal Arbitration Act with locale
in Dallas, Texas. The prevailing party may be awarded his reasonable
attorney's fees and costs. An arbitrator's award is enforceable in any
court of competent jurisdiction. Any claim made by a bidder has to be
presented within one (1) year or it is barred. Any claim as to provenance
or authenticity must first be transmitted to Auctioneer by credible and
definitive evidence and there is no assurance such presentment that
Auctioneer will validate the claim. Authentication is not an exact science
and other contrary opinions may not be recognized by Auctioneer. Auctioneer
in no event shall be responsible for consequential and incidental damages
and the value of an item is determined by its high bid, which is
Auctioneer's maximum liability. Provenance is not guaranteed by the
Auctioneer, but rather provenance is guaranteed by the consignor. Any
action or claim shall include the consignor with auctioneer acting as
interpleador or nominal party. While every effort is made to determine
provenance and authenticity it is up to the Bidder to arrive at that

default in payment thereof shall be arbitrated pursuant to the arbitration
provision. In the event that any matter including actions to compel
arbitration, construe the agreement, actions in aid or arbitration or
otherwise needs to be litigated, such litigation shall be exclusively in
the Courts of the State of Texas, in Dallas County, Texas, and if
necessary the corresponding appellate courts. The successful Bidder,
