S. BELLANGER, Paris - An important 19th century French, walnut dining room set comprising an extendible table, ten chairs, a buffet with a red marble top and a sideboard. Each piece exquisitely carved with floral and shell designs. Signed on brass plate. Table: 61" long, 50" deep, 28 1/2" high, with three 20" extensions. Buffet: 79" long, 22" deep, 62" high. Sideboard: 55" long, 19 1/2" deep, 41" high. S. Bellanger established a workshop in Paris from 1867-1876, honoured at the Exposition Universelle in 1867.
