Ship model diorama of the sailing barge "S/B Arrow" under sail in the Thames Estuary. Built in Rochester in Kent in 1897 as a 54-ton, 86-foot sailing barge as a two masted fore and aft schooner rigged sailing barge. The "Arrow" plied the Thames as a cargo hauler well in the 20th century as seen in the accompanying photo. An exhibition standard waterline model of the S/B Arrow, built by E.J. Walpole, with masts, derricks and rigging and fine and full deck detailing including anchors, winches, deck rails, companionways, hatches, deck winches, and rigged dingy on davits. The hull, finished in black, green, and light blue, is mounted on a painted molded seascape. The water line model is situated in an "at sea" diorama showing the vessel underway in a windswept sea state.

The case, measuring approximately 9˝ x 8˝ x 5˝, is handmade of a knurled wood veneer with a brass name plaque and four Turks head knots as feet. The model and diorama are in excellent condition. There is minor damage to one of the knurled wood veneer supports covering the glass dome and one of the end glass sections is slightly loose.
