Lot of 2. 1). Rye Patch Consolidated. Incorporated in Nevada. No. 363 issued to M.E. King in 1910 for 3000 shares. Signed by S.A. Greenwood, secr., and Clinton Ray, pres. 2). Rye Patch Agnes Mining & Milling Co. Incorporated in Utah. No. 387 issued in 1926 to E.C. Garry for 1000 shares. Signed by C.L. Shortino, secr., and J.D. Kimball, pres. Mining began in Rye Patch in 1863. A small camp was near the mine as early as 1865. Rye Patch Milling & Mining Co. was owned by an English firm which purchased the Rye Patch mines in 1869. The firm built a ten-stamp mill to ease the lode hauling distance. After burning down in 1870, the mill was rebuilt and the foundation remains today. In its hey-day, the town had a post office, saloon, and school [Paher, Nevada Ghost Towns and Mining Camp, 1973.
