Partly-printed DS as president, signed “R. B. Hayes,” one page, 15.75 x 19.5, June 25, 1879. President Hayes appoints Daniel R. Larned “Paymaster with the rank of Major.” Signed at the conclusion by Hayes, and countersigned by Secretary of War George McCrary. In very good condition, with intersecting storage folds, scattered light wrinkling and toning, primarily to the edges. The blue seal is only slightly worn, but intact, and Hayes’s signature is largely unaffected by any of the flaws.
