Dated 14 February 1883, Hayes writes his editor friend Edward Bok in New York, ''My Dear Sir: My absence from home has presented an earlier [?] with the request contained in your note of the 5th inst. Sincerely / RB Hayes'' 1pp. on card style stationery measures 4.75'' x 7.75'' and is in very good condition.
