This item is a rustic bowie knife/Kukri blade hybrid. The tang of the knife is tightly sandwiched in a down-turned horn handle, with a raw burr pommel. The blade of the knife has a single edge blade, with a downward pointed tip. The knife is housed in a custom two piece wooden scabbard. the scabbard is made one piece with red mineral dyed leather strand and braided rope, as well it is additionally nailed together. The sheath also showcases a scalloped tip, and subtle sunflare carvings. The knife is believed to originate from circa early-mid 1900's, and shows good condition, the large sheet steel guard is loose. The knife when inserted into the scabbard measures 20 1/2" long, 5 1/2" wide, and 2" thick.
