Rare, Russian natural gemstone, black Shungite, cut in the form of a pyramid, direct from Karelia, the only region where real shungite stone is extracted. Not a pressed factory stamped mold, but hand-cut from a monolithic piece of shungite stone, the veins of pyrite and quartz exposed. The surface has not been polished, but has been treated for smoothness on all four faces of the pyramid. 1 1/2" size. 1.4oz. weight. Shungite gets its name from the town of Shunga in the Karelia region of Russia. The stones are made mostly of carbon. Specifically, the stones are made up of clusters of carbon atoms called "fullerenes"  also containing many micro- and macrominerals. Some of these are quartz, mica, albite, and pyrite. The stone is prized as a natural alternative medicinal used to: sooth insomnia, relieve pain, improve energy levels, detoxify the mind, body, and spirit & protect against protect against electromagnetic frequency. Â
