The lid comes off  ( secured with magnets ) to reveal a hidden enameled compartment for the storage of trinkets of jewels. 7" H X 2 1/2" D. Comes with original gift box. * The double-headed eagle is a common symbol in Russian heraldry which was adopted from the Byzantines by Several Eastern European nations & continues to be used as the national symbol to this day. Â
