Hollywood’s tragic crooner (1908–1934) who was killed in a peculiar incident when a friend accidentally set off a firearm, discharging a bullet that ricocheted off the table and hit Columbo in the forehead; at the time of his death, he was romantically involved with Carole Lombard. AMQS on an off-white 5.25 x 4 album page, signed and inscribed in fountain pen, “To Amelia—My most sincere wishes and kindest regards, always, Russ Columbo.” Columbo pens three bars of his song entitled “You Call It Madness.” In very good condition, with scattered creases, toned tape remnants to the top, and two affixed star stickers.
