Ruger SRM New Model Blackhawk Single Action Revolver, #600-04323, .357 Rem. Maximum cal., 10.5'' barrel, blue finish, walnut grips with Ruger medallions, with instructions. Mfg'd from 1982-1984. Ruger ceased production after they found that the hot Maximum loads cut a groove in the bottom of the topstrap directly above the forcing cone gap. It was later discovered that these grooves were never very deep, and after they attained a certain depth, the cutting phenomenon stopped, never causing any danger of failure. This 57 oz. revolver fires everything from .38 Special, .357 Magnum up to the .357 Remington Maximum. Scarce with just 11,000 produced during its two-year production run. Even harder to find with the 10.5'' barrel. Condition is near excellent showing light field use and retaining approx. 94% factory blue, with a spot of finish loss on the backstrap. Grips with light even wear but left panel has a half-inch diagonal loss at toe. Smooth action, crisp light trigger and bright bore. Est.: $600-$800. (Modern/PPT)
