Nobel Prize–winning British author (1865–1936) best known for such colorful classics as Just So Stories, Captains Courageous, and The Jungle Book. Vintage matte-finish 4 x 5.5 Elliott and Fry portrait of a pensive Kipling resting his head on his hand affixed to an original 4.75 x 7.25 mount, signed in fountain pen on the mount, “Rudyard Kipling.” In fine condition, with mild silvering to the darker portions and Kipling’s underscore touching the top to the studio’s printed name. A very attractive pose.
