TLS, one page, 8 x 10.5, May 29, 1924. Kipling is forced to decline an invitation. In full: “I am in receipt of your letter of the 26th, and am very sorry that it is not possible for me to help with your Old World Fair in the way that you propose. I am sending you, however, a signed copy of an Address that I delivered recently in Scotland, which mught [sic] be sold, perhaps, for the benefit of fund, for which I send you my best wishes.” In fine condition, with creasing, intersecting folds (a vertical touching the end of his name), and a few spots of soiling. A fine example of Kipling’s attempt to satisfy the many requests on his time.
