Personal deputy to Adolf Hitler (1894–1987). Convicted at Nuremberg and sentenced to a life sentence, he was incarcerated at Spandau Prison in Berlin, where, following the releases of fellow convicts Baldur von Schirach and Albert Speer in 1966, he remained the sole inmate for two decades, until his apparent suicide. Intense 3.5 x 5.5 postcard photo of Hess in uniform, signed “R. Hess” in fountain pen. In fine condition, with scattered surface marks, corner bumps, and silvering to the darker areas.
