Hand-painted and potted by Doulton & Co., this early Royal Doulton porcelain figurine portrays Elsie Maynard, a character from the comic opera The Yeomen of the Guard by Gilbert and Sullivan. Wearing a lavender-toned tiered gown with red and yellow accents, she poses with a tambourine raised in one hand, her other resting confidently at her waist. The expressive pose and detailing evoke the theatrical flair of the period. First introduced in the 1920s, this version features the classic green Royal Doulton lion-and-crown backstamp and is inscribed with Potted by Doulton & Co. and Elsie Maynard. Registered design numbers appear on the base. Measures approximately 7"H.
