This Corset pitcher was produced by Royal Bayreuth in their desirable three color rose pattern, pink, white and yellow. Featuring an Art Nouveau overall design, tankard shape, ornate gold handle - pink, white and yellow roses everywhere. The rim is trimed in gold with only slight wear. Measuring 4 3/4 inches tall x 3 1/2 inches in diameter. The Corset pitcher bears the blue Royal Bayreuth mark and is in excellent condition. This pitcher is shown in McCaslin: Royal Bayreuth A Collector's Guide as item number 1131. Royal Bayreuth Tapestry China is so named because of its rough finish similar in texture to needlepoint tapestry. The process of wrapping the article in coarse cloth, then baking, obtained this effect. The cloth was consumed in the baking and the desired tapestry effect resulted. The floral decoration was added over the glaze. These pieces were produced at the Royal Bayreuth Porcelain factory in Tettau, Germany during early 1900s
