<td width="100%">
Royal Bayreuth Tapestry China is so named because of its rough finish similar in texture to needlepoint tapestry. The process of wrapping the article in coarse cloth, then baking, obtained this effect. The cloth was consumed in the baking and the desired tapestry effect resulted. The beautiful floral decoration was added over the glaze. The lid on this scenic jar depicts a colorful Castle, Mountain and Waterfall picture, with amazing detail, atop a pale blue base that stands on three gold feet. Measures 4 1/2 inches in diameter x 2 1/2 inches tall with both jar and lid in excellent condition, no chips, repairs, cracks or crazing ? Although not marked this is a very rare piece of tapestry porcelain produced at the Royal Bayreuth Porcelain factory in Tettau, Germany during early 1900s
