Royal Albert was originally founded as T.C. Wild & Sons in the 19th century. It prospered quickly, and in 1896 it took over a factory known as the Albert China Works. The "Albert" for which this company was named was named would later become King George VI, father of the current Queen Elizabeth II. Today, Royal Albert, Ltd. is part of the Royal Doulton Group. <p>The Sweet Violets was for many years one of Royal Albert's most popular patterns until it was discontinued in 2002. It features small clusters of soft purple violets with green leaves against a white background. <p>This tea set consists of a large tea pot, a large cream jug, and a large sugar bowl. The tea pot holds 1.2 litres. The sugar bowl measures four and a half inches across. The cream jug stands 4.25 inches high. All pieces are in excellent undamaged condition. The tea pot appears unused.
