Royal Albert was originally founded as T.C. Wild & Sons in the 19th century. It prospered quickly, and in 1896 it took over a factory known as the Albert China Works. The "Albert" for which this company was named was named would later become King George VI, father of the current Queen Elizabeth II. Today, Royal Albert, Ltd. is part of the Royal Doulton Group. <p>Until it was discontinued in 2001, Celebration was one of Royal Albert's most popular patterns. This Celebration tea set features a large tea pot, large cream jug, large sugar bowl, and six tea trios, each of which consists of tea cup, saucer, and tea plate.<p>The tea pot holds 1.25 litres. The sugar bowl stands 4.5 inches high, and measures 5.5 inches across. The cream jug stands 4.25 inches tall. Each tea cup stands 3 inches tall, and is 3.5 inches in diameter. The saucers are 5.5 inches in diameter, and the cake plates are 6.5 inches in diameter. All pieces are in excellent undamaged condition; many of these pieces have never been used.
