Roy Lichtenstein 'Woman in bath 1963' lithograph printed at Styria Studio in 1973. Signed by Roy Lichtenstein. Image: 15x9 inches. Mounted and framed. Lichtenstein changed his style from expressionism to Pop Art in the 1960s using his characteristic Ben-Day dots technique. In Woman in Bath, the thick black lines outlining the lady is an imitation of the comic book style, separating her from the static tiled wall, using only basic primary colours, he was able to depict emotionally charged subject matters in a calculated manner. His work as well as that of Andy Warhol heralded the Pop Art Movement, bringing an end to Abstract Expressionism.
