<B>Roy Krenkel - "Pellucidar" Layout Idea Illustration Original Art (undated).</B></I> Roy Krenkel is a legend among fantasy art fans for his bold figure drawing and inspired fantasy settings. This spectacular "layout idea for a dinosaur or Pellucidar picture to be done in colour" conjures up the fantasy world of E. R. Burroughs' Pellucidar. Early in his career, Krenkel lent his artistic help to his friends, soon nick-named "The Fleagle Gang" by EC editor Harvey Kurtzman. The "Fleagles" included Frank Frazetta, Al Williamson, Angelo Torres, Gray Morrow, and George Woodbridge, and these young comic art turks of the fifties shared a passion for the fantasy realms of E. R. Burroughs, Robert E. Howard, Hal Foster, and Alex Raymond. This masterwork of penmanship was signed with Krenkel's monograph at the lower right.
